White Rock Road traffic demand
in El Dorado Hills
The
Connector JPA has been failing to recognize actual demand for road
network capacity in El Dorado Hills and corresponding projections of
future demand.
This
graph compares data from Connector documentation with data from the El
Dorado County Department of Transportation. Data is only for the
designated Connector alignment in El Dorado Hills. A full evaluation
would cover other streets in the EDH road network, especially Latrobe
Road and El Dorado Hills Blvd.
Connector
data is publicly available only in one consultants' report, dated
January 3, 2010. Relative to data from the El Dorado County Department
of Transportation, the Connector data:
- Understates
existing traffic, except at the county line. The maximum discrepancy is
a factor of 5 at the northeast end of White Rock.
- Radically
understates future traffic, especially east of Latrobe Road. The JPA's
projection for 2035 is 30,000 average daily trips less than the County
DOT projection for 2025.
