Beyond supporting individual rights to display flags other than the
American flag, speakers discussed current issues of world peace, the
Iraq war, and the Bush administration.
Speakers pointed out that war in Iraq had in fact destroyed the
peace, where until recently peace had been maintained successfully
through actions of the United Nations such as trade sanctions and
weapons inspections.
Most speakers emphasized that the Bush administration has been a poor
practitioner of morality and justice, and that Bush administration
actions have been
harmful to our security, our economic well-being, and our civil rights.
Furthermore, pointing this out is a patriotic duty directed toward the
best
interests of our nation.
